最偉大的愛
讀經: 約翰福音15章9-17節

澳洲墨爾本有一間紀念堂，紀念為國犧牲的勇士。這紀念堂在第一次世界大戰之後興建，後來擴建為紀念在往後戰役中陣亡的士兵。
這美麗的地點提醒我們這些人的勇氣與奉獻。但是這個紀念堂引人注意之處，是大廳的一塊石頭，上面雕刻著：「人的愛心沒有比這個大的。」每年11月11日（第一次世界大戰的結束日）上午11點，陽光由一面鏡子反射進來，照在石頭上，打亮「愛」這個字，這對犧牲生命的勇士，確實是一項深刻的紀念。
我們尊崇並且紀念這些為自由付上生命代價的人，然而石頭上的字還表達另一個更重要的意義：這是耶穌在為這世上的罪孽被釘十架之前的夜晚所說的話（約翰福音15章13節）。他的犧牲不是為了讓我們免除政治上的壓迫，而是讓我們的罪得赦免。他的死不只是為我們成就更好的生活，同時也給予我們永恆的生命。

We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfact in love.
We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hated his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this comman: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.
